Virtual Sessions

Are Virtual Sessions just as Effective?

Virtual sessions allow for more flexibility and comfort.  If you are located in a town or area where there are no Therapists who specialize in Women's Health, or cannot travel to an in-person appointment, Virtual Sessions are the perfect option for you.   For example, if your drive or commute to our offices is challenging or in more than a short ride, we will suggest Virtual Sessions as there is no benefit to arriving late or stressed for your session.  In person sessions are also possible depending on availability.  Please inquire with us.

Hypnotherapy and EMDR are equally effective when done remotely, and perhaps even more effective because you have control over your space and physical comfort and because of the advances in modern technology.  

By using sound cancelling earphones, the Hypnosis portion of our Sessions can be a very immersive experience.  If we are a good client/therapist match, rapport and trust is developed just as strongly through a virtual session than in person.  Many clients say our sessions are deeply moving and powerful, and experience personal transformation and changes that are noticeable even after the first session.  

What do I need to prepare for a virtual hypnotherapy session?

During our Counselling portion of the session, you can sit anywhere you like to be able to talk freely without distraction.  No pets or children should be in the room.  During the Hypnosis portion, using cordless sound cancelling earphones can allow you to sit back comfortably and have a more immersive hypnosis experience.  It is recommended to use a tablet or laptop that is positioned in a stable manner on a tabletop or coffee table surface.  Iphones or Tablets that are not sitting on a stable surface are not adequate, as I need to be able to see your body from the waist up clearly, including your hands and eyes to monitor your level of trance facing forward towards the camera.  Please plan adequately prior to our first session in order to ensure you have a beneficial experience.  Sitting back comfortably on a couch is more appropriate than lying in bed, as you need to be relaxed but not so relaxed you might drift off to sleep. What do I need to prepare for a virtual EMDR session?

  You will need a comfortable chair or couch to sit up in front of your PC or laptop.  Iphones or tablets cannot be used for EMDR.  Good quality earphones or earpods will also be needed.  You will  be able to see me on the screen, talk with me,  as well as follow the EMDR prompts on the screen as you go through each cycle of EMDR.  This will include visual and / or auditory prompts according to what works best for you.  You do not need to download any software to do EMDR online with me, simply click on the link I will send you five minutes before our scheduled session.
